Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
This policy explains what data Focuslapse collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. Focuslapse is operated by Md. Tanbir Ahmed Suvo, sole proprietor, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Contact: hello@focuslapse.com.
1. What we collect
- Account data: your email address and authentication details. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive basic profile information (name, email) from that provider.
- Usage data you create: your focus blocks, sessions, reflections, categories/Tracks, goals, notes, and settings.
- Technical/analytics data: device and browser information, pages used, and product events, used to understand usage and fix problems.
- Push notification data:if you enable notifications, we store the push subscription endpoint your browser provides, so we can send the reminders you've turned on.
- Payment data: handled by our payment provider (Polar). We do not store your full card details — Polar and its processors handle that.
2. How we use it
- To provide and operate Focuslapse (store your data, run your dashboards and analytics, send the service emails and notifications you've enabled).
- To generate AI-assisted insights (“the Coach”), suggestions, and summaries.
- To improve the product, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse.
- To process your subscription and comply with legal/tax obligations (via Polar).
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for third-party advertising.
3. AI processing
Some features use Anthropic's Claude API to generate insights, suggestions, and summaries. We send only the minimum data needed for these features and avoid sending unnecessary personal identifiers. AI-generated output is text only.
4. Service providers (sub-processors)
We use the following providers to run Focuslapse. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosting / app delivery | Technical/request data |
| Supabase | Database + authentication | Account + usage data |
| Anthropic (Claude) | AI insights | Minimal data needed for the feature; no unnecessary identifiers |
| Polar Software, Inc. (Polar.sh) | Merchant of Record — payment processing, tax collection, invoicing. Polar uses Stripe Inc. as its payment processor. | Name, email, billing address, payment method details (card data handled by Stripe; we do not store card numbers) |
| Resend | Transactional + service emails | Email address, message content |
| PostHog | Analytics + error monitoring | Usage/event + technical data |
| cron-job.org | Scheduled notification triggers | Minimal scheduling data |
We may add or change providers as the product evolves and will update this list.
5. Legal bases (for EU/UK users)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process data on the bases of: contract (to provide the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to improve and secure the product), consent (where required, e.g. non-essential analytics cookies), and legal obligation (tax/accounting via Polar).
6. Data retention and deletion
- We keep your data while your account is active.
- You can delete your account at any time. When you do, your data is scheduled for deletion and permanently removed after a 30-day grace period (which lets you recover an accidental deletion).
- Some records may be retained longer where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons (these are typically held by Polar as Merchant of Record).
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these, contact hello@focuslapse.com. EU/UK users also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and the service working, and analytics cookies(PostHog) to understand usage and fix problems. When you first visit, we ask for your consent to non-essential (analytics) cookies via our cookie banner; you can change your choice anytime via the cookie settings link in the footer. Essential cookies don't require consent because the service can't function without them.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours (including the US and EU). Where required, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are used.
10. Children
Focuslapse is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age required for consent in their country.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be notified through the service or by email. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
