Terms of Service
Last updated: May 27, 2026
1. Who we are
Focuslapse (“Focuslapse”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a software service operated by Md. Tanbir Ahmed Suvo, a sole proprietor based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. You can reach us at hello@focuslapse.com.
2. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using Focuslapse, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. The service
Focuslapse is a personal execution and focus-tracking tool. You plan focused work sessions, run them, reflect on them, and see how your time was distributed across the things you are building. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
4. Payments and Merchant of Record
Our payments and subscriptions are handled by Polar Software, Inc. (“Polar”, trading as Polar.sh), who acts as the Merchant of Record (reseller) for all purchases. This means:
- When you buy a subscription, your contract for that purchase is with Polar, who sells Focuslapse to you as an authorised reseller.
- Polar handles billing, payment processing, and collects applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) on our behalf.
- Charges on your statement may appear as “Polar” or “Focuslapse via Polar”.
- Polar's own buyer terms also apply to your purchase: https://polar.sh/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
5. Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually, as selected at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- You can cancel anytime from your account billing settings (Polar Customer Portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
- We will give you at least 14 days’ notice of any price increase, sent to the email on your account.
6. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy at /refund, which forms part of these Terms.
7. Your account
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure.
- You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. Focuslapse is not intended for children.
- You may not misuse the service — including attempting to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to it, or using it unlawfully.
8. Your content and data
- You retain ownership of the data you put into Focuslapse (your blocks, reflections, notes, and similar).
- You grant us a limited licence to store and process that data only as needed to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy at /privacy.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Focuslapse available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms; material changes will be notified through the service or by email, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
10. Disclaimers and liability
- Focuslapse is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
11. Termination
You may stop using Focuslapse and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that creates legal or security risk.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
